Brand Spotlight - Kiehl's Blogger's Event

Hi all,
This time last week I had the opportunity to go to a blogger's event at the Kiehl's store in Nottingham. It was a great evening and I found out loads of new information about the brand.
I had encountered the brand on only one other occasion before, at the store in the Meat Packing District of New York. I still have to post about that as they had some great visual merchandising there that I took photos of.
Anyway, moving on here's some facts about the brand itself...

-The brand was founded in 1851 in New York and has been owned by three generations of the Morse family.
-The company use a lot of natural ingredients in their products, which are made particularly with sensitive skin in mind.
-All of the products are unisex but Kiehl's were the first skincare brand to launch a line for men. These particular products contain ingredients such as menthol which are slightly too strong for female skin.

- Kiehl's is popular with a lot of celebrities, in particular the Victoria's Secret models who use the Crème de Corps body cream on the catwalk.
- The company does a lot of work for charity which covers three main pillars: HIV/AIDS charities, Children's charities and Environmental charities.
-Celebrities even get involved with the charity work by designing labels for Special Edition Crème de Corps bottles, of which 100% of the profits go towards the charity fund! The current edition is by Kenny Schaf, a pop artist and friend of Andy Warhol. Celebrities who have been involved in the past include Florence Welch and Pearl and Daisy Lowe.
-Very importantly, NONE of Kiehl's products are tested on animals

Finally I'd like to say a huge thanks to the staff of Kiehl's who were so friendly and knowledgeable. They also gave us great goody bags which had a full sized version of the Midnight Recovery Concentrate worth £36.00! It's so nice and lightweight and great if you put it on just before bed!
I went to the event with two great girlies: Alice from Alice's Style Notes and Hayley who run's the Youtube channel Just A Bit Fabulous, both of whom you should check out!
